Her career in journalism began with Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and news reporter with WPDE-TV. Later, she was a morning news anchor for WCBD TV and also as the crime reporter. O'Dell's reporting on the lax responses of police officers in response to DUI incidents in Charleston led to an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which resulted in a new policy from state officials regarding DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. After her time in Charleston O'Dell was a co-anchor and investigative reporter for NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to her move to Access Hollywood as a weekend co-anchor and weekday correspondent. Her current position as host for Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC as well as NBC News. She has co-hosted a variety of pre-shows and arrivals shows for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. Other co-hosting credits include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
